Mother Earth... Our Life And Our Responsibility
There has never been greater time than now to love and protect our beautiful planet. Appalling stories of man made toxins being spilled in our waters and on our soil appears much to frequently in the news.
A Poem To Ponder
We think Earth’s bounty endless,
Our right to pillage clear.
We take with little forethought,
Forgetting what is dear.
We tear, we drill, we blast, we frack.
Priorities, we say, demand
Adherence to a corporate track
That ravages our land.
Could we stop to reconsider,
Pause to reevaluate?
Would that not be wiser
Than to share King Midas’ fate?
Midas, king whose greed for wealth
Brought pain, the story told,
Through alchemy, his finger tips
Did turn his child to gold.
His golden daughter, still as death,
With ravaged Earth compare.
What value comes from riches
When loss is everywhere?
A price we’ll pay, like Midas.
Of that there is no doubt.
Our planet warms, our oceans rise.
Storms grow fierce before our eyes.
A message clear we’re being sent
And surely we must heed.
To sustain this Earth we need
We must learn to temper greed.
